Though some consider PhotoFiltre nothing but a strip-down version of PhotoFiltre Studio, this photo retouching tool offers you a wide range of features to help you correct, enhance, and improve your digital photographs and pictures easily and efficiently. From standard adjustment tools to artistic effects, from brushes to layers, and from masques to transparencies, this program offers more functionality than what you would normally expect from a free retouching tool.
PhotoFiltre offers a clean and nice-to-look-at interface with a two-line toolbar on the top of the screen full of intuitive icons that cover most of the program’s functionality. Brushers, erasers, lassos, and color selectors appear on a different panel on the right side, and all of these features can also be easily accessed using the program’s standard menus and menu options. Filters range from basic contrast, brightness, saturation, or gamma correction controls to more creative ones, such as puzzle, watercolor, pointillism, or negative. These filters can be applied to the whole image or to specific areas of it, which you can select using various lassos, magic wands, and automatic shapes (triangle, square, rhombus, etc.).
The program’s layer support will allow you to mix pictures, change the color of and apply effects to background or foreground images, or add different textures to enhance your best pictures. One of the most interesting modules available in PhotoFiltre is the PhotoMasque module. Here you will find a wide range of masks – grayscale images with an outer contour and a central transparent shape – that will allow you to frame your images in a creative and pro-looking way. Finally, the program also comes with an icon exporting function for you to create 2, 8, and 24 bits icons in three different sizes.
Manipulates the images and modifies them by applying high quality effects.
