To add a layer in PhotoFiltre, first open an image. This enabled the Layer option in the menu bar. You can add a blank, color, and an adjusting layer. I have used an image and changed its color using a color layer plus Overlay in Blending mode. As you can see in the image below, the original photo is blue, but it turned green with the layer I have just added.

Yes, PhotoFiltre can actually edit images because it offers the basic tools to do this. For example, you can use background filling, stamp tool, smudge, artistic paintbrush, layers, effects known as filters (using Filter in main menu), etc. This is useful if you want to edit an image without installing other applications that require additional knowledge.

No, English is not the standard language in PhotoFilter, because when you visit the website, there is a selection menu to choose between English and French. Clicking one of the buttons will lead you to the page in the selected language, therefore the software will have that languages as well.

Is there a plugin to get rid of the red eye effect for PhotoFiltre?

A
Answer by Alex Urbach

Yes, there is a plug-in available in PhotoFilter to remove the red eye effect from images. You will have to download the plug-in from the dedicated page created for this purpose.

Download page: http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/plugins/plugins-en.htm

Download the plugin and extract it to the following path (default installation path): C:\Program Files (x86)\PhotoFiltre Studio X\Plugins\

Restart the program, then load the image and make a selection around the eye, then go to Filter > Plugin > Remove Red Eyes.

See the image below as an example:

Yes, there is a portable version of this application. It can be downloaded from its Downloads page.

Access the page and you'll see 2 downloads in the main section. Download the second one in ZIP format. Use your favorite archive extractor utility and specify a path for extraction. Browse to that folder and you will have the possibility of launching the application without installing it. This is good when you don't have necessary access rights on a specific partition.

What are the standard effects in PhotoFiltre? And which are only in plugins? Is vintage effect a standard package?

Stephen Prastman
Answer by Stephen Prastman

You can see the standard effects using the Filter menu in the menubar. For each category, a new sub-set of filters will load.

The Vintage effect doesn't appear to be available as a plug-in. I have checked the plug-ins page and it doesn't appear there which means it's already available as a standard effect through Filter > Artistic.
